There are in-progress pics on the page, but they probably won't change until we're done with out costumes. Hopefully, that will be a week before A-Kon (which is one week from now -- yikes), so that we can do a kind of dress rehearsal, take all of our pics, and do the formatting so that they'll be ready for our portfolio. I'll be doing little updates here and there, but really, until after A-Kon, there's not much to do. And afterwards -- whoo, better watch out!
Hmm...in terms of my own costuming, the new news is that I'll be doing Sora from the Escaflowne movie after A-Kon, because it's really massive in terms of tasks, and there's no way to complete it in the way I truly desire, before the con. So, my definites list is: Miwako (Paradise Kiss), Robin (Witch Hunter Robin), Tohru (Fruits Basket) and Sakura Grey (D7 Peacemaker). Each is coming along well, but they each get their own paragraph.
Miwako: For this, I'm just stitching up the top and hemming the skirt, and everything will basically be done. I have yet to style the wig, but it's just curling, so I'll do that some night this week. The hardest part of this is embellishing...finding fake nails, eyelashes, jewelry, beads, jewels, ribbon, lace, glitter...so on, and so forth. So, this is basically done, but I'm forseeing a lot of embellishments...so I'll put this at 50%, in terms of completeness.
Robin: All I have to do is sew the pieces of the black bodice (two, plus the straps) together and attach a zipper. The dress is done except for the collar, zipper and hem. Then there's the wig, but, as with Miwako, some night this week will be a wig night. Easy, but tedious.
Tohru: This is the one I've been putting off, a little. I have my pieces cut, for the most part, and I made a test skirt some weeks ago to see if the pleats I've designed will work (they do XD), but I just have to sit down and force myself to work on it. Because this is the blue winter uniform, it has three parts -- the skirt, the shirt (blue), and an inner shirt (white with blue stripes across the collar. Thank goodness for research...I wasn't sure how I was going to attach all of this stuff together until I saw a manga illustration that details some of the layers). Anyway, this will be my project during this week, and it'll be fun because Sue's also wrapping up her work on Yuki. The task I forsee as taking the longest will probably be the white 'sailor flap' thingy, just because I'll have to make sure it falls correctly and attaches to the inside of the collar, etc.
Sakura Grey: This is basically a sheath with a trim, and everything's prepared -- just have to run it through the sewing machine. I do need to get a wig, though, and figure out how to do her head fins...but, that's not tough.
Phew...and that's just what I have planned for this month. ;__;
Next month, I'm thinking...Emeraude (MKR), Lain (the pinkish outfit from the opening and the club), Princess Leia (the classic first white one), and some 80's cartoon things (there are a lot...;__; me = nostalgic masochist)...so, ionno, we'll see. Wee! XD
